The 25o was bored and stroked. This resulted in an increase in horse and torque. All things equal, the 300 will accelerate faster from a stop and from speeds of 40, 60 and 80mph as compared to a 250. Though the main focus of its development was to add torque for better acceleration which I believe was to make it a more versatile commuter. The increase in engine size was not the only change. Suspension tweaks also make it able to stay composed with the added power when in the twisties, though a tad uncomfortable for commute. So I guess the performance improvements were basically made for both commute and touring purposes with the engine size now in the Maxiscoot class.

I’ll still be holding on to my PX200E…waiting a bit more…maybe a geared 300…
